Could not pick up puppy due to COVID19

First if you read the original review and the owner's reply twice it states that he did not realize I did return the phone call exactly when I said I would, one week later when I found out the results of a COVID test by a parent's child. I never and I have witnesses with me throughout the week got multiple phone calls from the owner, his brother or anyone else that works there. I did get a call one week from the time I spoke to the owner from his brother at 5:00pm and I returned that call at 11:00am the day after as soon as puppy love opened. I explained I needed to wait an additional week that the child was in quarantine and he said he was busy and would call me back. Instead he made the executive decision to sell the puppy. Furthermore, I explained to the owner the type of dog I was looking to purchase and why a Maltese. Since they sold the dog right from under me, I have not seen a Maltese at their facility nor a dog I wanted to purchase. I was under the impression as the Owner stated I would get a discount as the communication or lack of never was told to him. He did not tell me that the only way was to purchase a dog immediately and to take down my negative review. I only had his word as no type of voucher stating that I was due a discount for all of my troubles was given to me. So guess what I was right yet again, this is his response to me when I asked about a dog this week. "Hi, obviously we're still sorry about the miss communication. We did hold the puppy for you for over a week while you were unresponsive to our continuous attempts to contact you. After we spoke with you and explained what happened we thought we were on good terms. Unfortunately we still see the terrible review you wrote about us. We think it's unfair for you to ask us for anything at this point. We left you messages for a week with no response. Now you want to hold us hostage w/a review. As a business owner to business owner I would've removed the review." I want to be clear Puppy Love did not leave me messages throughout the week my employees are here all day with me. When they called I called them back which when I spoke to the owner he agreed with me that his brother never told him I called. He never stated after I spoke to him on the phone that the only way he would make good with his promise depended on me taking down a negative review nor did he state it needed to be done within a certain amount of time. I am happy I left the review and went with my gut, I did not feel he would make good on his promises, as I was very clear to him my reasons why I wanted the Maltese and I was willing to put more funds down to hold the Maltese as it was not about the deposit of $200.00, I would assume his word means nothing after his response to me. To think I am a former customer the year they first opened up. I got nothing but excuses for the lack of communication whether it was personal or work, not a method to conduct any business. As a small business owner I would never tell a parent something that I had no intentions of following through, nor would I tell them it depended on them doing something for me first. Do I need to say more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unprofessional and unhealthy environment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On April 1, 2020, I bought a 9 ½ week miniature schnauzer puppy from Puppy Love. We named him Carson. Two days later, Carson began to sniff and sneeze A LOT. I didnt think much of it at first, but it soon turned into full-blown Kennel Cough. On the third day Carson had his first vet visit. I was told that 1) he had giardia and had to be treated and 2) one of his *** had not yet dropped and this would likely involve a surgeryor take the risk of Carson developing cancer. We didnt discuss Kennel Cough that day, but on day 4, Carson had developed full-blown Kennel Cough and infected my other two dogs. Now, all three were coughing, snorting, gagging, and spitting up, incessantly. All three dogs had to be treated by my vet. The Kennel Cough came from the environment at Puppy Love, which was then spread to my other dogs. I did not contact the store regarding this maddening and expensive situation. Regarding the giardia, the vet and all online sources clearly state that this parasite is a direct result of the ingestion of contaminated water, or *** or contaminated water with *** These conditions must have been present at Puppy Love since Carson was well taken care of when I brought him home. Again, I did not contact the store. I did contact the store, however, regarding the non-descending testicle. I called Puppy Love and spoke to the owner. He assured me that Puppy Love would cover the cost of the surgery if the testicle did not drop within the next few weeks. I asked him to please email me that resolution. More than 10 days later, no email, so I called the store again. This time, a different employee reiterated the owners promise and said he would send me the email. Now, 3 months later, still no email. My advice to anyone considering purchasing at Puppy Love: stay clear. This is an unprofessional and unhealthy environment.

BEWARE OF PUPPY LOVE !!!!!!!

On December 28, 2012, I purchased a 12 week old Doberman pup from PUPPY LOVE which is located at 37 Lake Ave Ext. in Danbury, CT. The owners of this store, Sean and Nancy Silverman, told me that they had the puppy in the store for 3 weeks prior to me purchasing it. After a few hours of having the puppy in my home, it was obvious that she was very sick with a terrible cough. The very next morning, I took her to the veterinarian who diagnosed her with kennel cough that had advanced to a serious lung infection because it went UNTREATED. I had to put her on two different antibiotics for two weeks. One of the medications was so strong that I had to administer it with latex gloves on because it can harm human bone marrow. That is how sick this poor puppy was! That vet bill cost $286. I spoke to Sean Silverman about this and he denied having any knowledge that this puppy was ill. I later discovered that the Silverman’s medical assistant who is supposed to clear all dogs prior to being sold went home early the day I purchased the puppy so he circumvented this important step. After I insisted Mr. Silverman take some responsibility, he eventually agreed to cover the vet bill. He told me I would have a check from his insurance carrier (PAWS) within 2 weeks. It has been over 4 weeks now and I still have not received a check. Mr. Silverman states that PAWS is “slow.” I contacted PAWS directly and they say they have no record of Mr. Silverman ever submitting this claim. After the puppy started to feel better, she became very aggressive with my other pets. I have consulted with animal behaviorists, veterinarians and trainers, all who have told me that this behavior is not normal in such a young pup and most likely the result of poor breeding/genetics. I googled the name of the breeder the Silvermans got the puppy from and was shocked to discover that she has committed violations of Federal Regulations as outlined by the US Dept of Agriculture for failure to provide proper veterinary care and failure to provide safe housing. I confronted Mr. Silverman with this fact. He was well aware of it and downplayed the violations. He stated "there was probably some *** on the floor they didnt have a chance to clean up before the inspector arrived". Below is a link that will show the violations the breeder that Puppy Love works with has committed. http://www.aphis.usda.gov/foia/enforcement_actions/2011/April/Animal%20Welfare%20Act/Official%20Warnings%20-%207060s/IA11039-AC%20Sue%20Shold%207060.pdf Mr. Silverman has refused to take any responsibility in this matter. As a matter of fact, once I created this page and started making the public aware of my bad experience (which I have every right to do), he has started to harass me. I have received seven (7) emails and two (2) phone calls from him within a 24 hour period. On of the emails he sent at one in the morning telling me that he is going to have a "surprise" for me. I have made Mr. Silverman aware that if does does not cease and desist from his harrassing behavior, I will need to report him to the local police. UPDATE #1: Mr. Silvermans response to my complaint is riddled with mistruths, inaccuracies and outright LIES. Here is a segment of an email I received from him on 1/29/13 in response to my concerns with the poor breeder. I copied and pasted this word for word: "I am from 5 children all raised the same. My oldest brother is a heroin addict in an out of jail all the time. It has nothing to do with the breeder or there parents." Don't take my word for it. Before purchasing a puppy, please contact any dog trainer or animal behaviorist in the Greater Danbury area and they will tell you the many, many horror stories people have encountered who purchased a puppy from this business. UPDATE #2: I called PAWS again today regarding the status of my claim Mr. Silverman told me he submitted. Because he lied, I will have to submit the claim myself now. Mr. Silverman had initially told me that PAWS only covers up to $200 in vet bills. Because I had the puppy to a vet within 12 hours of purchasing it and expressed deep concern to him about this, he agreed to cover that whole bill in the amount of $286.70. Mr. Silverman is now LYING AGAIN and stating that he never consented to cover the full bill. There have been so many lies I am not sure if he is purposefully lying or really can't distinguish between what is real and what is imagined. By the way, PAWS told me that for every 100 dogs Mr. Silverman sells, at least 11% of them seek reimbursement for medical costs due to illness.

I am so glad I found your review. We lost our little one after having him for ten years unexpectedly in March.

We are actively looking to purchase a puppy and I been following Puppy Love on Facebook. Well needless to say, I will start to look elsewhere.

We do not need to deal with this type of negativity. Thank you.
